I harvested the buttercrunch lettuce and baby spinach, then worked up the bed and planted green beans, bush and pole….
It takes a great deal of faith to plant seeds, but they are the most inspiring component of gardening, in my humble opinion. 4inches apart, 1/2inch deep, cover them up, water them, watch them, wait and see. They know what to do. I threw out zinna seeds around the newly-transplanted black-eyed susans–1/4inch deep, tamped lightly. I have some hyacinth bean seeds and some cardinal climber seeds to put out, but I’m going to soak them first to give them a headstart. Inside each seed is everything they need to grow and bloom. Just like us, but often we don’t realize it. Patience.
