let the gardening begin!!!

i cleared the leaves and debris out of the gardens 2 weeks ago and planted my cool-weather crops this last week-end.



yup, broccoli, sweet onions, sugar snap peas and salad greens…

oh, and my magnolia is in full bloom…

i’m sure i’m not the only one who’s had to resist the temptation to put in an entire garden—our average last day of frost is april 15!!  i’ve moved around the clematis, the cottoneasters are no longer with us, the daffodils are spent and the tulips have now taken over the spotlight.  my legs and back are feeling the familiar “first of spring pain” and we’re grilling out every night.  as we celebrate the vernal equinox, i’m feeling more than ready for the season.
